The golfing experience at Castro Marim Golf & Country Club is both varied and scenic. The course consists of three 9-hole loops – Atlantic, Guadiana and Grouse – designed by Terry Murray, which can be combined into two different 18-hole courses. This provides flexibility and variety throughout your stay.
The courses are beautifully integrated into the landscape and naturally follow the contours of the terrain, creating an authentic and challenging golf experience. The two oldest loops, Atlantic and Guadiana, are characterized by a mature setting with pine trees lining the fairways, providing both character and strategic challenges. The greens are fast and well-maintained, often elevated and protected by bunkers, which demands precision in the approach shot.
The Grouse course is the newest and is characterized by a more open landscape with wide fairways and larger greens. It offers a greater sense of space and freedom off the tee, while the rolling hills and views of the inland Algarve create a unique atmosphere.
Common to all three loops are the spectacular views – to the north are the mountains, to the east is the Guadiana River bordering Spain, and to the south is the Atlantic Ocean. The combination of varied layout, beautiful surroundings and good playing conditions make Castro Marim an exciting golf destination for players of all levels.
