You’ll stay in lovely and spacious apartments located directly on the Isla Canela Old Course. The apartments are well-appointed with two bedrooms, living area, fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, WiFi and private terrace or balcony. You’ll have a relaxed base with plenty of space and the opportunity to enjoy your stay at your own pace.
The Resort is located in a quiet setting close to both golf and nature, but a short distance from the cozy town of Ayamonte, where you’ll find restaurants, shops and local atmosphere. The Portuguese border is just a few minutes away, allowing for exciting excursions during your stay.

The golf is undoubtedly the highlight of this Long Stay stay, where you have access to two very different 18-hole courses: Isla Canela Old Course and Isla Canela Links.
Isla Canela Old Course is a classic parkland course (par 72) designed by Juan Catarineu that winds through a beautiful landscape of palm trees, streams and marshlands. The course is completely flat and very comfortable to walk, making it ideal for a longer stay playing many rounds. The layout demands strategy and precision rather than length, with narrow fairways, well-placed bunkers and large, fast greens.
Isla Canela Links is a completely different golf experience. It’s a modern links course (par 72) set along the Guadiana River with views of both the sea and Portugal. The course is inspired by classic British links golf with open landscapes, wide fairways, large bunkers and undulating greens. Although the terrain is flat and easy to walk, the wind often plays a crucial role and requires constant adaptation in play.
The combination of these two courses makes Isla Canela an ideal long stay destination. You get variety in your game – from the more strategic parkland course to the open and wind-influenced links experience – while both courses are highly playable and suitable for repeated rounds over several weeks.
In addition, the area is known for its good weather conditions and many hours of sunshine, creating the perfect setting for golf in the winter and spring months.
