El Gouna is located north of Hurghada and is built around lagoons and small islands. The area suits you if you want to combine golf with restaurants, a marina and the option to go out after your round.
You have two 18-hole courses to choose from. El Gouna Golf Club was designed by Gene Bates and Fred Couples, while Ancient Sands Golf Club is a Karl Litten design. October to April is a popular period for golf on the Red Sea. Winter has milder temperatures than summer, and daytime temperatures are often around 20 °C or higher. There can be wind and cool mornings and evenings, so pack more than T-shirts.
In summer, the heat can make a full round demanding. If you travel in the hot months, early tee times and breaks should be part of your planning. Weather can vary, and a golf package is not a guarantee of specific temperatures.
Golf and snorkelling on the Red Sea
