The highlight of the whole experience at Barceló Montecastillo Resort is their championship course designed by Jack Nicklaus. The par-72 course stretches over just over 6400 meters from the back tees, but with many different tee options you’re sure to find a length to suit your game so you can just enjoy your round.
This course consistently ranks among the best courses in Andalusia, a title that is fully deserved. One of the reasons this course always ranks so highly is the meticulous attention to detail in the way the course is maintained. You will find this course in nothing less than flawless condition.
The large and inviting greens are fast and consistent with subtle slopes. Water plays a big role on this course and can give you extra challenges on the last three holes. You need to keep your senses sharp right to the end of the round.
Every hole on this course is special, but the highlight is undoubtedly the 16th hole. It’s a classic modern championship hole and is breathtaking to the eye. A fade hole, this hole curves gently to the right and features fairway bunkers, pine and olive trees to the left and a perfectly placed water hazard waiting for failed approach shots. While visually appealing, this is a challenging hole and requires well-placed shots from tee to green.
With such a championship course, the training facilities are expected to match – and they do. The practice area is a great place to warm up before heading out onto the course or to work on your swing. The short hole course gives you everything you need to work on the part of your game that really matters. Especially on a course like this with such fast greens.
There is also a pitch and putt facility, which has recently been expanded.
