The course has recently been used for a PGA Challenge Tour event and offers a great layout. With the stunning backdrop of the Atlantic coastline, the course measures 6,419 yards from the championship venues and is an excellent test for any player, from the professional to the less experienced golfer. The par-71 layout is undoubtedly a hidden gem in Europe where you can enjoy an excellent round of golf while overlooking the rocky Atlantic coastline that makes Portugal’s west coast so special. Quinta da Marinha is also the perfect place for golf lessons, with regular PGA professionals using the same technology that Tiger Woods uses to hone his swing. In 2007, Quinta da Marinha hosted the best players from the Challenge Tour as the venue for the Estoril Challenge de Portugal, won by Surrey golfer Ross McGowan. Although much of Quinta Da Marinha is steeped in beauty with outstanding scenery of the Sintra Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, the 13th hole deserves a special mention. The lush fairway rolls down towards the ocean before meeting a green that boasts some spectacular panoramic views. This picturesque par 4 is one of the most famous holes in Portuguese golf, and it’s not without reason that it was used for many years to promote “Golf in Portugal”.
