Golf courses
Almenara Golf Course:
The Almenara golf course offers an impressive 27 holes in total. Guests can dive into these three excellent nine-hole loops. Designed by Dave Thomas and reshaped by legendary golfer Manuel Piñero, each course is superbly maintained and features narrow, rolling fairways with fast greens and strategic bunkers to create a challenging test of golfing ability.
The tightest of the three is Los Pinos (Pines), with tree-lined fairways taking much of the limelight. Los Lagos (Lakes) has a number of water hazards on its route and finally Los Alcornoques (Corn Oaks), home to some of the most dramatic holes on the course.
The views and landscapes here are truly breathtaking and the greens are immaculate and well maintained all year round. The best thing about this course is that golfers can enjoy up to three different 18-hole combinations, all with a par-72. This creates a challenge even for the most experienced golfers.
La Reserva Club:
This outstanding 18-hole parkland course with par-72 was designed by Cabell Robinson. This stunning layout is considered to be just as good, if not better, than its neighboring Valderrama. The impressive clubhouse offers golfers the perfect place to enjoy a post-round drink and a warm welcome is guaranteed.
Finca Cortesin:
Globally recognized as one of Europe’s most luxurious and memorable golf experiences, Finca Cortesin Golf Club is home to a stunning 18-hole championship course that merges with the natural Mediterranean environment.
The course has hosted numerous prestigious events, including the Volvo World Match Play Championship three times, one of the world’s most prestigious professional golf tournaments and host venue for the 2023 Solheim Cup.
There are extensive practice facilities with complimentary practice balls and fresh fruit provided to ensure you are well prepared when you head to the first tee for the unforgettable round ahead.
Finca Cortesin Golf Club golf course:
Considered one of Spain’s best golf courses by the prestigious Golf Digest magazine, Finca Cortesin golf course offers a fantastic challenge for players of all levels. The 18-hole championship course is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape, creating an attractive design, and the excellent year-round weather creates the perfect setting for playing golf. Fairways and greens are in excellent condition.
Cabell B. Robinson’s course design and Gerald Huggan’s attractive landscaping capture the natural characteristics of the area, providing an ideal balance between 20 different types of flora, the typical Mediterranean forest and the perfectly manicured Bermuda grass of the course.
La Hacienda Alcaidesa Links Golf:
Alcaidesa Links is an 18-hole, par-72 course that was designed by Peter Aliss and Clive Clark. It is the only links-type golf course in southern Spain. It borders the Mediterranean Sea and offers breathtaking views of the Rock of Gibraltar.
It really is reminiscent of a classic Scottish coastal railway, complete with heather and bushes. Some recent improvements have been made to make it suitable for all handicappers; fairways have been improved and widened, while greens have been leveled. You’ll also be treated to some stunning views across the Mediterranean to Gibraltar, and on a clear day you can see the Atlas Mountains in North Africa.
San Roque Old Course:
San Roque Old Course stretches over 6495 meters and hosted the Spanish Open in 2005. It was voted the 10th best golf course in Spain by Golf Digest Magazine. Its main feature is narrow, sloping fairways that require precise and accurate shots to achieve a good score. Bunkers have been strategically placed and deceptive water hazards also threaten, but those who take chances can be rewarded for taking chances.
