Tamarina’s stunning championship course, which is highly rated in Mauritius, winds across the rugged savannah land and is bordered by mature trees and crossed by the Rempart River. It was designed by Rodney Wright, who has designed many fine courses in the Far East and Hawaii. The holes are specially designed to not only provide a great challenge – with a mix of birdie holes and longer par-4s – but also to provide spectacular views of Mount Rempart, the majestic mountain and Tamarin Bay. The course has four par-3 holes, four par-5 holes and ten par-4 holes and can be stretched to 6,765 meters, but there are five sets of tees, so it caters to golfers of all levels. The grasses are built to USGA specifications and there is specially imported turf on the tees, fairways and greens, providing great conditions all year round. There’s also a fantastic 300 meter practice course with large putting greens and chipping and bunker facilities. Due to the climate and nature of the terrain, golfers are encouraged to use golf carts and take advantage of the four miles of golf cart paths on the course. There is also a refreshment cart and a halfway station where golfers can get snacks. There’s also a golf club with a training department with great training packages and advanced video assessment available from the professionals.
